6 Days Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech Itinerary
The journey begins in Casablanca with hotel pick-up. Travel through the scenic Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen. Known as the blue city, Chefchaouen sits in northern Morocco and features blue-painted buildings, said to ward off mosquitoes. The city offers beautiful photo opportunities and a vibrant café scene. Spend the night in a local riad or hotel.
After breakfast, depart Chefchaouen and continue through the Rif Mountains to Fes, often called Morocco’s cultural capital. On the way, stop at Volubilis, a partially excavated ancient Berber city near Meknes. On arrival in Fes, settle into your hotel or riad. The afternoon is free for you to explore Fes at your own pace. Overnight in Fes.
Following breakfast, leave Fes and travel through Imouzzer and Ifrane, which sees snow in winter and cool air in summer. Visit the Azrou cedar forest with its wild monkeys, then have lunch in Zaida. Continue through the Atlas Mountains to Midelt, stopping for a short break, then drive via Erfoud to Merzouga, near the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, embark on a camel ride across the sand, watch the sunset, and arrive at your desert camp for an evening of Berber music under the stars.
After breakfast, depart through Rissani, known for its date markets and large traditional souks. Head to Tinghir to see the impressive landscapes and the Todra Gorge.
