12-Day Morocco Itinerary
12 DaysOverview
Experience Morocco on a 12-day tour starting from Casablanca. This journey covers the four imperial cities and the Sahara desert. Begin up north in Casablanca, then see Rabat, the capital, and Chefchaouen, the famous blue town. The trip also includes stops at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Meknes (known for its Ismaili history), and Fes, Morocco’s cultural hub. Heading south, visit Ifrane—often called the Switzerland of Morocco—and the cedar forests, then explore Midelt, the Ziz Valley, Rissani’s bustling markets, and Erfoud, known for fossils. In Merzouga, ride camels, sleep under the stars in the desert, and catch the sunrise and sunset in the dunes.
The tour continues with the dramatic Todra and Dades gorges, the iconic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, and a drive across the High Atlas mountains along the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. You’ll finish with guided tours in Marrakech and Essaouira, then return to Casablanca.
12 Days in Morocco – Daily Plan

After breakfast, drive along the coast to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Visit landmarks like the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Oudayas. After lunch, travel north through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains. Stay overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, roam the blue-painted medina of Chefchaouen with its distinct doors and whitewashed walls. Enjoy lunch, hike up to the Spanish mosque for wide views of the city, then return to your hotel.
Start your day wandering Chefchaouen’s alleys. Then head to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site with mosaics and arches. Next, visit Meknes to see Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani, royal stables, and the tomb of Moulay Ismail. Then head to Fes and stay in a riad.
